Music at St. Peter's

The organ is a well-maintained Taylor 2-manual. St. Peter's also has a very good Petrof upright piano, which is used for choir practice as well as for a variety of concerts. The church is noted for its remarkably good acoustic.

Organist required at St. Peter's

St. Peter's is looking for an organist to play at one Sunday service per week, plus a number of feast-day services during the year. Each month we have one sung Matins, two Holy Communions and one sung Evensong, with a further Evensong on fifth Sundays.

Services are from the Book of Common Prayer, so a facility for accompaniment of sung responses, canticles and psalms is essential.

Our established choir leads the singing at all services and good remuneration is offered, in line with RSCM recommendations. Please direct enquiries to the choir director, John Strange.

Choir at St. Peter's

The present choir, led by John Strange, was formed in 2009 and has 14 voices at maximum strength. The choir leads all services, which include Matins, Evensong, and the occasional sung communion service, and are delighted to take part in wedding ceremonies.

We rehearse on Thursdays at 7pm and new members are always welcome. There are no formal auditions - our only requirements are enthusiasm and a love of singing.
